Research Title
CFD Simulation of Moving-bed Pyrolizer for Sewage Sludge Considering Gas and Tar Behavior
Details
This study focused on the tar decomposition behavior in the pyrolyzer. The indirect pyrolysis gasification plant has been designed and developed in our research group to produce green hydrogen. For the practical stage, one operating problem is stacking due to the sticky tar. In this trouble, we investigated the tar decomposition of the main contents of benzene and naphthalene in consideration of the kinetics. In addition, using the reaction rates, we made the dynamic fluid dynamics program (CFD) and simulated the tar decomposition in correspondence with the inner temperature distribution of the pyrolyzer. Through this simulation, we found a suitable temperature range for the tar decomposition and argued for countermeasures to prevent operating troubles due to tar.
Congratulations!
