Area of expertise
Computational fluid dynamics
Heat-transfer engineering
Turbulence dynamics

Research theme
Subcritical transition of wall-bounded turbulence
Turbulent viscoelastic-fluid flow
Turbulent (solid-liquid-air) multiphase flow
Inverse analysis for turbulent substance diffusion
Thermofluid transport in reactors and solar-power plants

Laboratory profile
We work on problems on the fundamental understanding and modeling of transport processes with industrial and environmental interest. Large-scale computations using supercomputers are applied to explore turbulent transport of mass and heat, multiphase flows, non-Newtonian fluid flows, and flows in complex geometries.
