Invitation to The 5th Indo-Japan International Symposium for Overcoming Chronic Intractable Infectious Diseases

Tuberculosis, AIDS, and malaria are three major chronic intractable infectious diseases for which radical cure remedies have not been developed yet. To overcome such intractable infectious diseases that frequently occur in Asia, Japan will convene a co-symposium with India.

Invitation

5th Indo-Japanese International Joint Symposium on Overcoming Intractable Infectious Diseases Prevalent in Asian Countries

Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to invite you to participate in the “5th Indo-Japanese International Joint Symposium on Overcoming Intractable Infectious Diseases Prevalent in Asian Countries” to be held on September 16th and 17th, 2014, in Tokyo, Japan. The purpose of this international symposium is to develop understanding on promoting efforts to address effective treatments to overcome various intractable infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis, AIDS and malaria via exchange of information and ideas, and discussion on future trends and prospects in these fields.
The 1st symposium in this series was held in 2007. Since then we have had the 2nd and 3rd, 4th symposia in 2008 and 2010, 2012 respectively, in Tokyo, and international collaborations have been promoted. Based on these fruitful results, the 5th symposium has been planned to leverage even greater flow of information and collaboration in areas of translational research.
There is a pressing need to improve clinical treatment of these intractable infectious diseases, since a lot of people worldwide still continue to suffer. Hence, it would be utmost important to discuss the strategies to overcome these diseases.
The symposium consists of invited lectures and poster presentations by scientists from India and Japan, and other areas in the world. On behalf of the organizing committee, I cordially invite you to take part in the 5th symposium.
