Research Activities

A symposium of the Center for Drug Delivery Research is convened every year to let the public know the activities of the Center for Drug Delivery Research and acquire criticism and suggestions on researches.

So far, the symposium was convened three times. Fortunately, the symposium attracted considerable concern and approximately 200 participants attended it each time.

The 3rd Symposium of the Center for Drug Delivery Research convened last year included the special lecture “DDS in Cancer Chemical Therapy” by Mr. Yasuhiro Matsumura, Director of the National Cancer Center, four invited lectures by external researchers participating actively in the DDS field, and the lecture on the results of the Center for Drug Delivery Research of the Tokyo University of Science.

As the last program in the symposium, “Reporting the Activities of the Center for Drug Delivery Research” was to be made each time. This reporting is important to externally clarify the progress statuses of researches in the Center for Drug Delivery Research and it is also of significance as the place for discussion with researchers in various fields.

Additionally, the Center is proactively participating Bio-EXPO. In the Fifth Bio-EXPO in 2006, three presentations were made and attracted concern more than expected. The Bio-EXPO is also useful for indispensable cooperation with the pharmaceutical industry for practical application of the DDS research.
